Sorry it took me so long to continue from this. I’m really busy going out and having fun…some of the time. Also busy Facebooking…I’m really addicted to it. Can I not continue Part 2? Can’t really remember already….kekekek….
I had Ethan strapped on top of me using the infant seat belt. Of course, knowing him, how could he ever sit still? The whole time wriggling around. So what I did I do? Opened his favourite book, Granpa and Thomas by Pamela Allen, which I read over and over and over and over and over…… I got him to sleep not long after. I hesitated whether to put him on the bassinet because he looked longer than it. I had it opened then didn’t know how to put it back up, so I asked the attendant to do it. Finally I opened the bassinet again and put him in. I had to bend his legs a bit. Then I organised everything to make more space and then tried to take a nap.
About 10 minutes after I closed my eyes he woke up crying. And no matter how I held him he kept crying. He didn’t have enough sleep because it was just for 30 minutes. I think it was for about 20 minutes that he kept screaming and me trying to nap him again. That 20 minutes (could be more) was really hard to bear. So yeah, it was that terrible I nearly cried! If he were like that at home I would’ve just let it be. But now have to think of other passengers. I remembered when I didn’t have a child and encountered this situation (not often) I’d be like “Can you please be quiet?!”. Now is the same, only now I have to make him quiet. In the end I asked for warm water to make some milk for him. When the water came he fell asleep. Yeay!
Then I got to watch Spiderman 3…until he woke up. I probably got to watch a quarter of the movie. After his milk I’ve decided to let him walk…WRONG decision! I had to lure him back to his seat with biscuits. When he finished his biscuits the walking started again. This time he went to the area where all the food carts were kept and also the cabin crew rest area, it’s between business and economy class. He was actually playing with the curtain that separates each class. In, out, in, out… *headache*
The final two hours of the journey I tried to nap him again but failed. Finally he fell asleep 15 minutes before we landed. *sigh* When arrived the pilot wanted a local doctor to do a health check on the passengers. !!! We had no idea what for and some of the passengers were complaining because they had a connecting flight. I was ‘patiently’ sitting there holding my boy. We waited for quite a while, about 20-30 minutes. When we were freed I waited for everyone to leave the aircraft. Then I had to put him on the seats behind where the arm rest can be lifted up while I strapped the hip carrier on myself and put him on it. Very difficult to hold him when he’s asleep on the carrier. I kept leaning my body backwards a little. One of the ground staff was very helpful and carried my bags out for me and got me a trolley. He kept asking me if I took everything and I said yes. I only realised I left Granpa and Thomas behind because I was trying to hide it from Ethan.
SO HEAVY! I can’t use the fast lane for immigration because of him. Luggage collection time, “Excuse me, could you please get my big luggage for me, it’s that one over there, thank you!”, I got the small ones myself. SIL greeted us at the airport. Once I stepped out of the building, all I could feel was the HEAT. Once we got into the car Ethan woke up. When we got home, I bathed him and fed him again then put him to bed at about 11pm. He got up at 7am the next day and already he got adjusted to the local time.
