Long overdue tag. Tagged by sis in May and Mommibee in July. Actually I took these photos in May. It’s not really my favourite food but it’s something different to add to the long list. Also I don’t have a lot of choice, living in Adelaide. It’s either western, which we seldom eat other than fast food, Chinese, Malaysian or Vietnamese. I’m going to write about German sausages.

If you come to Adelaide, one place that you’ll definitely visit is Hahndorf, also known as the German town. It’s located in Adelaide Hills, about 30 minutes from the CBD (Central Business District). The place - Hahndorf Inn (accommodation + restaurant). The restaurant is divided into two separate areas, the bar at the front with a few tables (it’s self service if you sit here), and a lot of tables at the back that comes with table service. There is also a fireplace at the back, and a secure play area for children. It’s a child-friendly restaurant. There’s plenty of space to move our stroller around. I really like their service, they showed me to a table close to the play area so that we can watch Ethan when he played. Everytime we go we see many families with children there.

The food - A taste of Germany platter (serves 2-4, when we ordered there were 3 of us, cannot finish). There’s four different types of sausages - Bockwurst, Weisswurst, Cheese kransky and Vienna. And then there’s the very salty smoked Pork Kassler Chop and a very large Pork Knuckle. It is served with Rhine potato, herb dumpling, sauerkraut, 2 pretzels and a selection of Beerenberg mustard (Beerenberg is a factory just down the road that makes jams, mustards and sauces). Okay, all the sausages look different but I don’t know which is which…hehehe… I like the potato but don’t ask me what is herb dumpling because I sure as hell don’t see any dumpling around. I only ate 1/3 of all the sausages with potatoes and pretzels, also very full already.

This very old tag so won’t be tagging anybody.

I heard about this Germany eatery from another blogger in Australia. I like German sausages and its crispy pork knuckles.

It’s a pity you’re not tagging anyone. This tag has gone round the world and has been going round for several months. I visit almost everyone on the list. Cheers.

Hi and thanks for visiting. I didn’t think that the pork knuckles were crispy, although I didn’t eat it. Now that you mentioned it, I felt bad for not tagging anyone. I just thought that since it had been going on for quite a while, most of the bloggers I know would’ve done it already.
