Sis suggested that we should spend some time together as a family and booked a night at this service apartment in KL. For a more detailed description of the service apartment and photos go here. See Ethan inaction at the playground in the service apartment. It’s a walking distance to Suria KLCC so we went there for dinner at San Francisco Steakhouse.
This is the view from the second bedroom in the service apartment at night.

And the next morning. Not so nice now since you can see the constructions there.

A nice photo of both of us smiling and looking at the camera.

I couldn’t remember when was the last time my family was together, probably about 6-7 years ago. Sis in LA, bro in KL, dad in KL/Brisbane, and I’m in Adelaide. So today is a very special day as we all get to meet again, now with additional two boys. Dad flew in today and we had dinner at New Paris with my uncle’s (dad’s bro) family. We wished he could come sooner because we’re flying off in a week. But because he had to come at around this time to settle things at the condo unit and Air Asia only have cheap flights within these two weeks to/fro Gold Coast. Oh well, he is here, we are together and that’s the most important.

Bro is behind the scene.

Last time, we had lunch at Sushi Zanmai in 1 Utama. Today we had lunch at Pasta Zanmai. Like Sushi Zanmai, Pasta Zanmai is quite a small restaurant. If you come at lunch hours I’m sure you have to wait to be seated. Almost everything in the menu looks yummy. But I can only choose one to share with Ethan. Okay, again I don’t remember exactly what I ordered but it had to be spaghetti. Would definitely eat there again when we go back. Here’s a nice photo with my godmum and Ethan.

After lunch we made Ethan and Brandon sleep and went for fish spa again. This has got to be the last time this trip since we’ll be leaving next week. After fish spa I decided to do the foot scrub because my feet was cracked like crazy. It was already cracked before I came back and it became worse because I wear sandals every time we go out. OMG it’s bloody ticklish! Like 10x worse than the fish spa. I was laughing so hard throughout the process and woke Brandon up. Ethan was already up and the staffs there were very helpful in looking after him while he ran around in the shop. Godmum and godsis quickly cleaned up and took both the boys out while sis and I ‘enjoy’ our foot scrub. After scrubbing my feet feels absolutely clean and smooth. Then it’s foot mask time. The result of that was very fresh and minty feet. Last process was the foot lotion and then we’re off. Feet felt very fragile and sensitive when I walked, like a pair of virgin feet, after all the dead skin had been scrubbed off. It was very satisfying to see a clean feet but I will NEVER get my feet scrubbed ever again.
When we met up with my godmum and godsis we were surprised to see the boys in fire engine carts, how cute! I thought those things were expensive to hire but turned up they only cost RM1 each for OneCard holder. Unfortunately they didn’t get to ride very long in those because we had to leave already. If only we’d known how cheap these were from the beginning we would use it when we go to 1 Utama, which is pretty often.

A couple more photos here.

Yup, both my dad and brother share a same birthday, how cool is that?! So means my dad got his biggest present ever when my brother was born. Didn’t celebrate anything, dad was still in Brisbane. Also today is our trip to Penang. Every time we go back to KL surely will spend one night in Penang. Firstly to pay our respects to mum, next is to eat la. I mean, what is Penang famous for right?
This trip we got to eat our favourite economy fried mee hoon at Air Itam. We only get to eat this on very rare occasions because this stall closes on Saturdays and we always go back during the weekends. I was so excited for this long-awaited moment, only to feel dissapointed after the first taste. Won’t be craving for that anymore. The next morning we had breakfast at our usual place, opposite the Air Itam market. I ordered fried Jawa mee, we ALWAYS order that, even if we are eating other food there will always be Jawa mee in the middle to share.
Later on we went to stock up on the Him Heangs and the Ghee Hiangs. After that went for a drive around the downtown, my cousin brother was the driver of the day. We began heading home in the afternoon and stopped for tea/dinner at a seafood restaurant on mainland Penang, forgot what that place is called.
Too lazy to put up any photos.

She hit 21 this year. Actual day is 20 June but we celebrated a day after because that’s when godbro came back from Singapore. JoJo is my godsis and Ethan is supposed to call her kai yee yee but he can only say yee yee, while Brandon calls her Jo yee, which sounded like my brother’s name.
We had dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Uptown, forgot the name of the restaurant (JoJo, help me out here). And then we went home for the cake cutting (and eating) ceremony. JoJo, may all your wishes come true. If you can only choose one, would you wish to lose weight, or to meet your idols Super Junior?

Can’t believe it has been 10 years from school already. WOW!

Rick’s Cafe, Bangsar.
Used to be known as SMDJ, which stands for Sekolah Menengah Damansara Jaya. They added the ‘K’ for Kebangsaan in at some point, I think when I was in Form 5. I was the last in the family to attend this school. *sigh* I missed school, not all the exams but mostly all the fun I had with friends. I was a Girl Guide and very active in Interact Club. Now I can’t believe that I have actually stayed back for meetings and even go to school on Saturdays. Guess I didn’t get enough of school then.
Originally I couldn’t attend this gathering because I wasn’t going to go back to KL at first. I’m very happy that I made it. Seeing friends I haven’t seen for such a long time. I just can’t believe so many people couldn’t make it. Most of them are in KL but they just didn’t make the effort. There was a presentation at the beginning but I missed it because I went late. Had to wait until Ethan takes his nap before I went out. I didn’t really mix around much (sad to say) because I wasn’t really close to most of those who were there. At least I left my mark there, LOL!
/p
Everyone lost weight but I put on, too much!
Thanks Leonard for organising this event!

I have been seeing photos of friends visiting the fish spa before I came back to KL and wondered what that was. I saw loads of fishes attacked the legs and feet when dipped in. It looked ticklish. So now that I’m back and since this is one of the to-do list for sis, we thought we give it a try.
Godsis told me that there are two fish spas that she know of, one in Pavillion and the other in Bangsar. Pavillion is quite far from were we live and Bangsar is not that close either. We stumbled across one which was just opened not to long ago in 1 Utama when we had lunch there. Obviously this one is not as nice as the one in Pavillion or Bangsar but it’s near and that’s good enough for us.
First challenge was to nap the little buggers in their stroller so we can have just 30 minutes for the spa. Ethan napped not long after we arrived and then we had to wait for Brandon but he was difficult. So I decided to go with godsis first then sis and godbro will join once she kau tim Brandon.
We had to wash our legs first before dipping into the pool of ‘deadly’ fishes, LOL! So it was as ticklish as I thought, but just at the beginning. Then it feels really nice having the rufas sucked those dead skins away. It only took me a while to get used to it while sis and my cousins were laughing for so long because they were ticklish.

Me and godsis

I was standing up at this point because the water level was too low
I think my legs were dipped in for a little less than 30 minutes when Ethan woke up. Took him up and let him play around a bit until everyone was done. Then we went to Sushi Zanmai for lunch. I ordered udon because Ethan likes to eat noodles. The food there was yummy and I like that they give child’s plate and utensils for children to use.

My last trip back to KL we went for breakfast at Ikea a few times, once we even went twice a week. The food was good and cheap. So I wouldn’t miss it this time around. I was wishing that they’d serve nasi lemak on the day we went but unfortunately for me they were serving mee goreng (which was not very good) and french toast with jam. I took the toast and a blueberry muffin for the little man. It was my godsis’ treat. Ethan didn’t finish his muffin but went off to play at the little playground.
My memory is not very good but I think we went for the breakfast the second time and still they were serving the mee goreng. What I remembered was one of us went and asked the staffs if they knew when the menu is going to change and they said that mee goreng is going to stick for a while.
How disappointing! I know I can get $1 nasi lemak elsewhere but I was looking forward to Ikea’s nasi lemak because it was really good too.

Sis had organised a family gathering for all of our family members to meet after all these years. We met at my godparents’ place in TTDI Hills (yup, the one with the mozzies) and food was catered. The food was good, even Ethan had some. It was a busy day, many relatives came but I didn’t really had a chance to chat with them because I was too busy chasing after Ethan. We also celebrated sis’ birthday (just a few of us anyway) with a yummy chocolate cake. Godbrother had got a friend to be the photographer for the day and here are some of the pictures he took of us (as in Ethan and I).

This ALWAYS happen when we go back to KL.

Still manage to smile with face full of mosquito bites.
That’s not the worse of it, he’s got bitten all over his arms and legs. It’s pretty bad considering this photo was taken on the first few days of our arrival. Don’t like this sort of ‘welcoming gift’. Only happens when we stay at my godparents’ in TTDI Hills. The back of the house is jungle with lots of other bugs besides mosquitoes.
What I really, really despise was that the mozzies attack him and him only. I sleep next to him. I know la, his blood is sweeter, etc. When I kena bitten I heal quicker than he does. There was a time when he was finally healing and then out came the mozzies to attack him again. Tried using mosquito patch but not really effective. It was close to the end of our trip when we got the electric mosquito repellent which seemed to work well for the first few days and then probably the mozzies got immune to it. Maybe next time I’ll try the bug zapper with the light in the middle. Wonder if they still have those.
